Kargil Day at our school is a poignant and meaningful observance dedicated to honouring the bravery and sacrifices of the Indian soldiers who fought in the Kargil War. Held annually on July 26th, this day is marked by a series of solemn and respectful activities designed to educate students about the significance of the Kargil conflict and instil a sense of national pride. The day began with a ceremonial assembly where students and staff gathered to pay tribute to the soldiers through a moment of silence and the playing of patriotic music.
This is followed by a series of informative presentations and discussions led by teachers and invited Chief Guest Lt. Col P Babu, who provide insights into the historical context, strategic importance, and personal stories from the war. Special projects, such as creating banners and posters commemorating the soldiers' valor, are integral parts of the observance. The school also organizes a display of photographs, memorabilia related to the Kargil War in the central foyer, offering students a tangible connection to the history. Through these activities, Kargil Day serves not only as a tribute to the soldiers' heroism but also as a powerful educational experience that fosters a deeper understanding of national history and the values of courage and sacrifice.
